First off, I'd like to note, that this is stuff I made a little over 2 years ago. The pictures are recent however, because I finally have time to show my handiwork off to the world. (Anyone with a baby will understand)
This is the first set of curtains that I sewed myself. A basic straight stitch all around, these were super easy to make. I used cotton fabric I got at Wal-mart for $1 a yard. SCORE! For that price, I bought the whole bolt, which was a little over 9 yards. The cutting lady looked at me like I was nuts when I told her I didn't need her to cut it, just measure so I knew how much was there. As you can see, it's a pretty blue. What you can't really see well is the little green frogs printed all over it. For the ties, I threaded green ribbon through eye hooks mounted into the window frame. A super cute look for my little boy's room!
Then I decided to try my hand at a diaper stacker. For this one, I followed directions from the book, "Nursery Decor for Beginners" by Coats & Clark. Super-easy to make and customize! In addition to the frog fabric (had to match the curtains!) I used green double-bias fold tape for the edging and ties.
And, since I really did have so much fabric left, and the cushion fabric was just terribly ugly, I recovered the cushions on my glider rocker for the nursery. It has since been moved out of the nursery to make more play room, but I think it looks pretty neat. And it's super comfy as well.
